The Universality of Islam

Within the central principle of Islam and in its definition (the surrender of one's will to God) lies the root of Islam's universality. Whenever man comes to the realization that God is one and distinct from His creation, and submits himself to God, he becomes a Muslim in body and spirit and is eligible for paradise. Thus, anyone at anytime in the most remote region of the world can become a Muslim, a follower of God's religion-Islam- by merely rejecting the worship of creation and by turning to God alone.

It should be noted, however, that the recognition of, and submission to, God requires that one chooses between right and wrong and such a choice implies accountability. Man will be held responsible for his choices and, as such, he should try his utmost to do good and avoid evil. The ultimate good being the worship of God alone and the ultimate evil being the worship of His creation along with, or instead of, God. This fact is expressed in the final revelation as follows:

"Verily, those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (Qur'an 2:62)

"And if only they had acted according to the Torah, the Gospel, and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the Qur'an), they would surely have

gotten provision from above them and from underneath their feet. There are from among them people who are on the right course, but many of them do evil

deeds." (Qur'an 5:66)

علَےَ مُحمَّــــــــدْ و علَےَ آل محمَّــــــــدْ كماصَــــــلٌيت علَےَ
إِبْرَاهِيمَ و علَےَ آل إِبْرَاهِيمَ انّك حميد مجيــــــــد وبارك علَےَ
مُحمَّــــــــدْ و علَےَ آل مُحمَّــــــــدْ كما باركت علَےَ
إِبْرَاهِيمَ و علَےَ آل إِبْرَاهِيمَ فى الْعَالَمِينَ انّك حميد مجيــــــــد

جازاكي الله خير الجزاء ويسر كل أموركي آمين
